Creative Reuse Joins Wigle Whiskey For a Crafty Fundraiser

The Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse (PCCR) will be joining Wigle Whiskey on September 14th for an evening of drinking, dancing and crafting. DJ MB will be spinning vintage soul and R&B all night while guests get the opportunity to drink top notch cocktails, bid on artistically modified whiskey bottles and partake in a hat making workshop. And if all of that wasn’t enough, a hefty line up of food trucks will be available all night outside of the Strip District distillery.

PCCR is a non-profit organization that endorses material reuse throughout the region. Their shop in Point Breeze offers affordable materials for creative projects and has been an asset to artists and educators. Since 2012 they have been a vital part of the community, organizing Maker fashion shows and collaborating with galleries and festivals all over Pittsburgh.

Community programs are offered at their shop and around the city that promote resource conservation. Reuse-a-Palooza is an ongoing event that PCCR has brought to the Three Rivers Art Festival and that can be incorporated into any festival, fair, or community event which wishes to bring in a fun educational activity focused on recycling.

PCCR is one of many organizations in the city working towards educating and informing the public about the importance of recycling. With workshops available for teachers that want to use these tools in their own classrooms and 18+ open studio nights, PCCR has resources that suit everyone’s needs within the community.
