6 Last Minute Pittsburgh Halloween Costumes

Halloween is upon us and that means at least half of you are scrambling to put together a last minute costume. Instead of dressing as a cat for the 10th time, take a cue from our list of Pittsburgh centric Halloween costumes that you can put together in under an hour.

Heinz Ketchup Bottle

Being a bottle of ketchup isn’t only original, it’s incredibly simple. Wear an all red outfit paired with a white hat and a Heinz 57 label you can print out or make by hand if you’re feeling crafty.

Pittsburgh Dad

Quickly becoming a classic Halloween go to, Pittsburgh Dad is a regional favorite and an easy last minute costume. Pair some oversized glasses with a Penguins Jersey and some no-nonsense jeans. To make it a couples costume have your better half dress as Deb. Although we never get to see Deb we’d imagine she’d wear some unfortunate mom jeans, white tennis shoes, and a Steelers cap. Don’t forget the Pittsburghese.

Sharon Needles

Sharon Needles is our city’s most famous drag queen and has made a career out of celebrating Halloween everyday. Amp up your witch or devil costume this year by pairing it with some amazing spooky drag.

Mister Rogers

A red cardigan, a tie, gray slacks and a happy disposition are all you need to dress as the beloved Mr. Rogers. For extra points, make yourself into the dinosaur dressed as Mr. Rogers.

Campbell’s Soup Can

This costume comes complete with variations. While you can dress up as a soup can with a red and white ensemble and some signage, you could also dress as the pop art king Andy Warhol. Black pants, a black turtleneck and disheveled blonde hair will do the trick. Of course, feel free to accessorize with a can of Campbell’s and some big sunglasses.

From George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead to our annual zombie fests, the Steel City is known for it’s love of the undead. Grab a Halloween makeup kit at the drugstore, some fake blood, and have a gory look in less than 20 minutes. Rip up some clothes and start practicing your best leg drag and you’ll be ready to go.
