The 5 Best Rooftops in Pittsburgh

There’s only one thing that beats unwinding with some good food and brews after a long week, and that’s doing all of those things on a rooftop. Okay, so maybe also being in a hot tub on said rooftop would be even better, but now you’re just getting greedy. We’ve put together a list of local rooftops that promise a relaxing and enjoyable evening, sans hottub.

Biergarten/ Facebook

Biergarten @ Hotel Monaco
Not recommended for those with vertigo. This open air bar is a whopping 9 stories above William Penn Place. European beer and a Germanic influenced menu take center stage at Hotel Monaco’s Biergarten. While you’re there enjoy games like giant Jenga and super-sized Connect Four. And don’t forget to join Hotel Monaco on September 19 for their Oktoberfest kickoff. Just don’t get kicked off the roof.

BRGR/ Facebook

BRGR

When you hear BRGR you really only think of one thing; burgers. But the restaurant’s East Side location should also be known for it’s amazing rooftop dining area. This covered rooftop may not loom far above the city, but it’s a great spot for late night drinks in a quiet spot right above Shadyside. They also serve alcoholic milkshakes and spiked floats. Now just picture yourself on that rooftop drinking one of those.

Il Tetto/ Facebook

Il Tetto @ Sienna Mercato

Located on the third floor of Sienna Mercato, Il Tetto is the perfect spot for those who wish to be in the midst of the city while tucked away from all the hustle and bustle on this secluded rooftop bar. This third floor rooftop beer garden sits atop Sienna Mercato, home to gourmet meatballs, charcuterie and inspired Italian cuisine. It’s like a fancy meat palace.

Six Penn/ Facebook

Six Penn Kitchen

Six Penn’s rooftop is a cozy drinking spot nestled between some of Pittsburgh’s historical buildings. Complete with cabana’s, this outdoor lounge features small trees and greenery that emulate the feeling of a rooftop garden in the midst of the city. And don’t forget about all of the amazing food being made directly below you.

Uptown/ Facebook

Uptown

Don’t panic, we included something for all you sports fans. Uptown, deemed “Pittsburgh’s Ultimate Rooftop Lounge”, is located right next door to the Consol Energy Center so you can stop by to celebrate a victory or mourn a loss. This hip venue offers a big selection of beer, wine and top shelf liquor but don’t worry, they have a pretty decent happy hour. $3 domestics and a stellar view. What more could you need?
