One of the highlights of the new year are the numerous theatrical productions, including opera, plays and more. From laugh-out-loud comedies to thrilling romances, musical theater is one of the highlights of the local art scene and has something for everyone. These are the must-see musicals of 2018 in Pittsburgh.

Wicked
January 24-February 11
Elphaba and Galinda are back in a twist on the Wizard of Oz that explores the lives of the witches of Oz before Dorothy dropped in as the beloved Broadway show returns to the Steel City.

Up and Away
January 25-April 15
The world premiere of this musical comedy is a rip-roaring adventure of two small-town brothers who run into trouble when they visit the Big Apple.

The Bodyguard
February 27-March 4
Deborah Cox stars in this incredible Broadway production of the 1992 film, featuring the music of legendary singer Whitney Houston.

RENT
March 27-April 1
The 20th anniversary tour recaptures the electric appeal of the original production in an award-winning musical about the spunk and perseverance of a group of artists facing poverty, illness and existential crises in New York City during the 1990s.

On Your Feet
June 12-17
In the tradition of jukebox musicals like Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia!, the vibrant show depicts the love story of the famous singer Gloria Estefan and her husband/fellow Miami Sound Machine member Emilio in a groovy musical that will make audiences want to get up and do the conga.

Titanic
June 22-July 1
The infamous ship sails once more in this CLO production. Revisiting the tragic tale, Titanic follows real-life figures that rode on that fateful trip in a new production of the Tony Award-winning musical.
