Numerous business and organizations in Pittsburgh’s North Side will join together for the Northside Chalk Walk on August 12. The event is an effort to bring newcomers to the area for family friendly fun.
The walk will begin at 11 a.m. at several locations, including James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy, Arnold’s Tea, and Penn Brewery. Each location will provide a bag of sidewalk chalk to use around the neighborhood. The walk is made to bring beautiful artwork and expression to the sidewalks. James Street’s parking lot will also be available to create artwork along with local professional artists.
During the walk, activities including face painting, ice cream and food trucks, and more will be available to enjoy. At 7 p.m., the adult walk will begin. Other venues such as Allegheny City Brewery, Penn Brewery, Wigle Whisky Barrelhouse & Whiskey Garden, Scratch Food & Beverage will participate in the adult walk. Live music, art and more will be provided for an eventful night around the North Side.
The event is free to the public.
