Recap: LOCAL on The Rocks

LOCALpittsburgh Magazine rung in October with their second annual drink competition, LOCAL on The Rocks. The event, which pools together some of Pittsburgh finest restaurants to share the joy of the drink, hosted an invite-only crowd of approximately 200 to the old MSA building in Point Breeze.

This year, an art component was added, courtesy of Red Fish Bowl, an artist agency headed by Chris Boles. Attendees were able to enjoy live painting, vendors, and artist displays throughout the venue.

Food, drinks, and more drinks were flowing as the crowd danced the night away to tunes provided by DJ Bamboo.

Of course the night isn’t complete without crowing the cocktail champions of the universe.

Scintillating cuisine and cocktails were also provided by:

Ten Penny, Dive, Steelhead, Johnny O’s, Ease, Luke Wholey’s, Scratch, Andy’s, Bakersfield, Round Corner CantinaBar Marco, James Street Gastropub, Bakn and Lot 17.

Proceeds from the competition went to the Pittsburgh Food Bank and 412 Food Rescue, a charity designed to redistribute food to the needy and eliminate food waste.

LOCAL on The Rocks strives to be an originally eclectic event that promotes diversity and community involvement. It’s good to have fun, but it’s great to give back and bring people together.

Special thanks to Ten-Four Social, who helped organize, implement, and manage LOCAL on The Rocks.
