SweetWater Music Fest Brings People of All Ages to Greenfield

On Saturday, June 11th, SweetWater Music Fest took over Greenfield and brought out fans of live music, lovers of day drinking, and overall good company to the area. Although considered a music fest, SweetWater was less about music and more about getting together with family and friends for this all-ages event that was held at the corner of Hough’s, just 10 minutes from the city of Pittsburgh.

The outdoor block party on Nantasket Street had a few activities for the family like a DIY tie-dye shirt station and a corn hole set up, but most people took advantage of the $5 SweetWater beer specials and reminisced with friends while sipping a cold brew. SweetWater Brewing Company, a brewing company from Atlanta, Georgia named one of the nation’s top 20 craft brewers in 2015 by the Brewers Association, sponsored the fest. For those who couldn’t enjoy the award-winning lineup of beers, the fest included a slew of activities and live band performances throughout the day.

The fest invited three bands to join the fun: Andre Costello and the Cool Minors, The Beagle Brothers, and Jim Trace and the Makers. In between sets, spectators of the fest took the time to get away from the summer heat and grab a bite to eat at Hough’s. The stage was set up in the back of the block party, giving those in attendance a chance to listen to some local and new music which brought the whole atmosphere of SweetWater Music Fest in the neighborhood of Greenfield together.
