Phantom of the Attic Hosts Halloween ComicFest 2017

Before heading out to your next hayride or costume party, stop by Phantom of the Attic Comics in Oakland for the sixth annual Halloween ComicFest, this Saturday, October 28th.

Whether you have delved into the world of comics before or are just beginning to explore this exciting form of media, there will be something for everyone at this special seasonal celebration. You can grab a free comic – which will feature titles including Archie, Donald Duck, and DC Superhero Girls. (But hurry, they go fast.)

Starting at 10 am, the Halloween ComicFest is an all-day event. You are more than welcome to arrive in your favorite costume as you grab some candy and peruse not only free comics, but can discover a new favorite graphic novel or even find back issues that will be on sale that day only.

At 2pm, professional artist and Pittsburgh local Joe Wos will be stopping by the store for a special live performance, Once Upon a Toon, as he humorously illustrates the story he’ll be telling to the audience. Afterwards, Joe Wos will also be there for a signing of his latest book for children – Myths and Monsters: 50 Mazes for Kids.

Keep an eye out for Stranger Things 2 merchandise at the shop from the event sponsor Netflix, and when the day is done, you and your friends can even enter the Halloween ComicFest’s costume contest on their website to be entered to win a prize.

This is a family-friendly event and free to the public.
