Culture Groove, an event focusing on Pittsburgh’s up-and-coming artists of various mediums, will have its second edition Thursday, July 20 at 9 p.m. at the Flow Lounge and Gallery, located at 282 Morewood Ave. The main focus of the event is to showcase diversity in the city, placing emphasis on artists of color.
Organized by Corrine Jasmin and Madison Turiczek, both local artists, Culture Groove will host poets, musicians, rappers, dancers, and visual artists. Art will be displayed throughout the gallery provided by Harley Skibicki, Miles Saal, Laura Rosner, Madison Turiczek and more. A small open mic session will also be held for anyone wanting to perform.
Musicians participating are: The Wizard, Laila, Miles Jackson, Remy Vega, Dar, Hawaii Slim, with poets Karon Hawkins, Alona Williams, Levi Justice, and dance performance by Karon Hawkins. REDS11 Clothing will also vend their line.
