D’s Six Pax and Dogz – Hot Dog of the Month (December ’18)

A good Reuben, much like a hot dog, should be loaded with toppings as well as flavor and this month’s specialty dish at D’s Six Pax and Dogz definitely is. Influenced by the famous sandwich, the Reuben Dog is the December Dog of the Month at Pittsburgh’s favorite Hot Dog Shoppe. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, the Reuben Dog brings holiday cheer all over Pittsburgh this holiday season.

Is a hot dog a sandwich? Maybe or maybe not, so why not put the sandwich ingredients into a hot dog to compromise with the debate. This variation of the Reuben features a smoked kielbasa with a fresh layer of Swiss cheese, 1,000 Island Dressing, Sauerkraut, and finally topped with Caraway Seeds composed into a steamed poppy seed bun. (The Reuben Dog is also available on a famous beef or veggie dog as well).

With another year coming to an end, there is no better way to prepare for New Year’s Day than with a December craft beer and a Reuben Dog. James Conner inspired many Pittsburghers in 2018 with his play… and haircut, so please do not be like Le’Veon Bell and holdout on this awesome deal. $14.544 Million in wasted money does not compare to the priceless and mind-altering flavor of the Reuben Dog, so let’s end 2018 on a good note and try one before the new year!

We’ll be doing these pieces monthly. Check back next month to see the newest creation from D’s Six Pax and Dogz!
