D’s Six Pax and Dogz – Hot Dog of the Month (September ’18)

As summer comes to an end, many of the seasonal traditions typically end as well. However, some summer favorites such as the upper-90’s weather and copious alcohol consumption continues on. When considering an iconic summer food, the hot dog immediately comes to mind for most Americans. Thankfully, D’s Six Pax and Dogz is back with their September Hot Dog of the Month, “The Greek”.

The Greek is one of the most interesting hot dogs you’ll ever see. As the dog is wrapped in a Pita, it’s then layered with cucumbers, feta cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream thus creating an incredible Greek salsa. It’s almost a disgrace to the dog to place it in in the same category as a traditional ketchup-and-mustard dog. The Greek flavor profile mixes perfectly with the hot dog in the most intriguing way.

“The Greek” paired with the Straub Tight Lines.

One thing we’re good at as a species is making beer. With over 2,500 breweries operating in the US today, there had to be something to match with The Greek. D’s suggested the Straub Tight Lines Kolsch. The bread-like and herbal tastes coming from the Tight Lines ended up being a perfect match to The Greek. It wasn’t too strong of a flavor either which allowed the dog to still be in the spotlight.

We’ll be doing these pieces monthly. Check back next month to see the newest creation from D’s Six Pax and Dogz!
