LOCALpittsburgh to Sponsor Savor Pittsburgh: A Celebration of Cuisine

Food is what Pittsburgh is all about in the past few years. The steel city has become a mecca for the epicurious, and that’s why LOCALpittsburgh is happy to take part in sponsoring one of the areas best culinary showcases, Savor Pittsburgh. For 12 years, Savor Pittsburgh has delighted the pallets of food lovers, offering the best and brightest in the restaurant business.

Presented by UPMC Health Plan, McCormick & Schmicks and Peoples, the fundraising event will offer appetizers, entrees, desserts, and signature cocktails from more than 20 of Pittsburgh’s premier restaurants. Live music will be performed courtesy of No Bad JuJu and The Voice’s Chris Jamison.

VIP tickets are available and include a one hour private party with access to the VIP area all evening, appetizers from McCormick & Schmick’s, Morton’s, Mitchell’s and The Grand Concourse, top-shelf cocktails, free parking for every two VIP tickets purchased and 10 complimentary raffle tickets.

This event also serves a competition among the participating restaurants. Chefs will face off as they compete for multiple awards including the coveted “Dish of the Year.” The 2016 Culinary Competition Winners were:  The Commoner: Dish of the Year, Revel + Roost: People’s Choice and Best Appetizer, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks (Piatt Place): Best Entrée, and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort: Best Dessert.

The event’s real spotlight is on women’s and infants’ health research at Magee-Womens Research Institute. All net proceeds will be matched by UPMC. Magee-Womens Research Institute is the largest independent research institute in the U.S. focused solely on women’s and infants’ health research. More than 100 nationally recognized physician-scientists are engaged in groundbreaking research spanning diverse aspects of women’s health.

Savor Pittsburgh will be held on September 28, 2017 at the Petersen Events Center. Visit www.savorpgh.com for more information.
