Spork Restaurant gives……#LOCALbitesPGH

Written By Jeff Rose

We recently visited  Spork Restaurant, located on the border of Bloomfield and Garfield and while there we spoke with Sean Dwyer Enright, GM, bar genius, and co-author of Pittsburgh Drinks: A History of Cocktails, Nightlife & Bartending Tradition. While catching up and sampling a delightful pasta dish, Sean explained to us some charitable programs Spork is engaged in. They are participating in the Steel City Restaurants Unite, along with a 30+ other restaurants to raise money for the Virgin Islands. Fresh off of appearances in several food events, including LOCAL on the Rocks, Spork finds itself with some donated batch products for craft cocktails. They will donate 100% of the sales (not profits, sales!) to Puerto Rico. In the month of November all wines by the glass will be from California vineyards and a proceeds of the sales will go to help this ravished area.

Supporting restaurants like this and other small businesses engaged in continuous giving is what makes this community special.

Publisher, President, trash collector and whatever else it takes to get the job done. LOCAL is a publication which is not demographically targeting age, income, color, gender, sexual preference etc.... It's about engagement, entertainment and leisure reading. Thanks so much for spending time with us.
