Previously shown in Los Angeles, artist Hannah Altman is bringing her solo exhibition, Construct of Viewpoint to Pittsburgh. The show will feature photographic textile works of self portraits – exploring the female presence, identity and assertion. An opening reception at Union Hall on Thursday, February 8 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Construct of Viewpoint is a show like you’ve never experienced before. Altman brings her riveting self-portrait images to life via dye-sublimation on various textiles such as lace, woven microfiber, satin silk robe, polyester tapestry, and more.
Only one of the pieces has previously been shown in Pittsburgh.
“I’m excited to share them here,” Altman said.
Altman says she’s grateful for Andrew Heffner of Union Hall and his curatorial skills for the Pittsburgh show.
“I’ve lived here for about four years now, and the arts community here is always immensely supportive of new ideas and are always willing to go to opening to check out new work,” Altman said.
Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Bar Marco. This event is free and open to the public.
The show will be on exhibit at Union Hall from February 8 to April 2.
