Amp up this Classic Breakfast Duo with 4 Simple Ingredients

Are you a breakfast person who’s tired of the same old routine of eggs and toast?

Well, here’s a recipe that’s sure to spice up this breakfast duo.

Toast with Guacamole, Sunny side up eggs, and Sriracha sauce

The Essentials:

Bread, Egg(s), Guacamole, Sriracha Sauce, and a little butter

Directions:

Heat up your skillet on medium to medium-high heat

Add butter to skillet to prevent sticking (Try Kerrygold Butter, a healthier option made from goat’s milk)

Crack egg into the skillet and cook until edges start to crisp

While egg is cooking, begin making toast

I used whole grain bread fresh from a local bakery, but you can use your favorite.

Toast to your liking

Add guacamole onto the toast (available at various grocery stores, or make your own)

Once egg is cooked, place it on top of the guacamole

Finally, add sriracha sauce for a little spice in your mundane egg-eating existence

The Healthy Stuff

The ingredients this breakfast provide amazing health benefits.

Guacamole contains vitamins including E & C, which help prevent and fight off sickness and infection. Along with that, it’s high in fiber. Fiber is lowers chances heart problems, high cholesterol, and prevents constipation (WIN!).

Eggs provide protein and vitamin B2 (riboflavin) which helps break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats to make energy. Another important but overlooked nutritional fact about eggs is that they contain Choline, a nutrient that builds cell membranes and aids in the development of signaling molecules to the brain.

Sriracha Sauce is originally from Thailand and is a paste made from distilled vinegar, sun-ripened chili peppers, garlic, salt, and sugar.

The chili peppers in this sauce helps to boost your metabolism and endorphins, promotes serotonin, dissolves blood clots, fights inflammation, and is a natural aid in losing weight.

The combination of these simple ingredients is really amazing and will leave your taste buds bouncing off the wall.

Enjoy!
