Apple Crisp For World Peace

There’s something special about the combination of apple and cinnamon that just makes you not hate the world as much. Pump some sweetness into your sterile existence with this Apple Crisp.

What you’ll need:

Crumb Topping

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter; cut into small chunks
  • pinch of salt

Apple Filling

  • 3-4 large apples; peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

What to do:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a medium size bowl, combine the crumb topping ingredients using a fork.
  3. Refrigerate crumb topping mixture while preparing apple filling.
  4. In a small bowl, combine melted butter and flour until blended.
  5. Add lemon juice, milk, and vanilla into the butter and flour mixture; mix well.
  6. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  7. Pour mixture over apple slices and mix until apples are coated.
  8. Pour apple mixture into a square baking dish.
  9. Take crumb topping out of refrigerator and sprinkle generously over apple filling.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden.
  11. Cool for 10-15 minutes and serve.
