Vine Rewind: Penn Avenue Picnic, Saturday 2 pm – 10 pm & Sunday 12 pm – 10 pm, July 27 & 28, presented by Pittsburgh Winery, 2700 block of Penn Avenue, Strip District.  Join in this block-party-style celebration in the Strip District, with over a dozen bands, plus an acoustic stage.  10 foods trucks and Redfishbowl’s Artist Village will add to the outdoor fun.

 

 

Bloody Mary Festival, Sunday, July 28, noon- 3 pm, Voodoo Brewing, 205 East 9th Avenue, Homestead.  Sample some of the best bloody mary’s and mimosas in the ‘Burgh.  There will also be live music and food trucks,  Plus, a portion of the proceeds benefit the Animal Rescue League.  Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at www.voodoobrewery.com.

 

Outdoor Silent Disco, Friday, July 26, 9 pm – 12 am, The Abbey On Butler Street, 4635 Butler Street, Lawrenceville. Three DJs will play tunes participants will select to hear through headphones, which can be rented for $5.  Everyone will be dancing and watching music videos in a collective silence at the Abbey’s new pop-up patio.

 

 

 

 

 

South Side Park Goat Fest, Saturday, July 27, noon – 4 pm, Bandi Schaum Community Garden, South Side.  With the motto “Supporting the ecological restoration of the South Side Park one bite at a time” this reforestation project fundraiser is sure to  “Get your goat.”.  The South Side Community Council has been utilizing the efforts and appetites of a heard of 10 goats to help remove invasive vines on the park’s hillside.  Five musical acts, eight food trucks, five craft vendors and ten goats will be on hand for the afternoon’s festivities.  www.goatfestpgh.com

Dance Africa Pittsburgh 2019: We Are The World, Friday – Sunday, July 26, 27, 28, Kelly Strayhorn Theater.  A weekend of workshops, music, an African marketplace and dance performances will fill East Liberty’s Strayhorn Theater.  Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sunday at 4 pm with a “pay what makes you happy” ticket price.  Tickets and workshop registrations may be secured at www.kelly-strayhorn.org
