Cooking for Circles East Liberty  Monday, 1/21 from 12PM-3PM Temple Sinai, 5505 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh. Circles is a nationally-known, proven, and innovative way of connecting people across socioeconomic lines in an effort to move people and families out of poverty. The Circles East Liberty chapter hosts 70 individuals weekly for learning and conversation. These meetings include free childcare and dinner for all participants.

Art + Empathy: CMOA Celebrates MLK  Monday, 1/21 11AM-6:30 PM Carnegie Museum of Art, 4400 Forbes Ave. This year marks the 90th birthday of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whose message of equal rights for all is as important today as it was during his lifetime. Carnegie Museum of Art celebrates his legacy through artworks and activities that inspire discussion and reflection. All are invited to enjoy the following all-ages activities.

A Gathering of Women Leaders: One Empowered Evening Thursday, 1/24 6PM-8PM AC Hotel Pittsburgh Downtown, 1126 Smallman Street.  Local leaders Beth Caldwell and Kim McClure. Despite challenging personal and professional obstacles, these women have persevered and achieved success and fulfillment both at work and at home, and they want the same for you. Prepare to be inspired and motivated as they share their deeply personal stories and how they replaced guilt, shame, and judgment with fierce optimism and purpose.

Beer Hall Boogie Thursday, 1/24 6PM-10PM  Lorelei Pittsburgh, 124 S Highland Ave.  Join DJ MB as he kicks off a new weekly music series at Lorelei: Beer Hall Boogie! Moving from Hidden Harbor Thursdays down to East Liberty, Matt will be playing classic soul, R&B, jazz, blues and more, mixing in classic vinyl sounds with digital rarities. Enjoy a mix of European beers & local brews, or get an Alpine-inspired cocktail, along with a new menu of bar food. Get on the good foot, get a witness, and get down to Lorelei on Thursday!

21+ Night: Kimchi Workshop Friday, 1/25 7PM-9PM Assemble 4824 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.  Do you want to learn how to ferment your own kimchi? Meet other foodies and learn about the spicy vegetable fermentation process with Jyun Lee! Participants will learn how to create their own blend of spices and vegetables, and take it home with them to ferment! Assemble provides drinks, food, and all project ingredients.

Opening Wknd, New Archives: Visions & Voices from AWC Lab Saturday, 1/26. Noon-5PM. Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh 4400 Forbes Ave., Squirrel Hill. The videos, sculptures, manuscripts and digital artworks on view are based on storylines and designs created between artists and over 100 Pittsburgh residents who participated in the August Wilson Center Lab. The AWC Lab was a pop-up art & technology research center where people of all ages imagined and enacted futuristic tools, technologies, systems, and narratives that affirm and project the future of people of African descent.

Drag Diva Brunch Sunday, 1/27 11AM-2PM. Hotel Indigo-Wallace’s Whiskey Room 123 N Highland Ave, Pittsburgh.  East Liberty will be hosting its very first drag queen brunch with the debut of “Drag Diva Brunch”, organized by Antwuan Self.
