Every month GoodTaste! Pittsburgh goes “behind the line” to interview one of the ‘Burgh’s fabulous Chefs and put these chefs front and center! This month they are highlighting 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗞𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼.
𝗖𝗶𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 is an upscale seafood eatery serving local & sustainable fare served amid dark wood decor & warm hues. They are locally-owned and tucked within Pittsburgh’s Historic Strip District for over 11 years.
𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗹: My Kunz Spoon. A very versatile tool that is made for accurate measuring, plating and saucing, and is strong enough to hook into a stock pot’s handle and pull it across the stove.
𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗩 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄: I’m addicted to sitcoms, my favorite would be a toss-up between Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and Parks & Rec.
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲: Unfortunately I am not home for many meals, so my wife does the bulk of the cooking. I do try to take care of breakfast every morning for my daughters.
𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲: My grandmother had a very simple recipe for fried fish that she only did for Christmas Eve dinner. It’s plain and simple but when I make it, it makes me feel closer to her and my family in general.
𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗸: I try not to listen to too much music in the kitchen, otherwise, my crew would have to deal with my terrible singing and even worse dancing!
