Fresh Fest, Saturday, Aug. 10, 12 pm – 9 pm, Nova Place, 100 S. Commons, North Shore. Fresh Fest returns after it’s successful inaugural event last year as the nation’s first black brew festival. This year, 28 black breweries will be showcased, including Cajun Fire from New Orleans, Dirtbag Ales from North Carolina, and Warcloud Brewing Company from Southern California, to name a few. 75 vendors, 15 visual artists, six musicians, four DJs and 45 collaborations with black breweries and other entrepreneurs will also be on hand. A $45 general admission ticket will get you unlimited pours of over 150 different beers and ciders, entertainment and a 5 oz. sample glass to commemorate all of that thirst quenching goodness. Pittsburgh VegFest 2019, Saturday, Aug. 10, 11 am – 5 pm, Allegheny Commons Park, 810 Arch Street. Non-profit, Justice for Animals will again host this popular, free vegan festival of over 35 food and beverage trucks, plus 35+ vendors and live music. 10th Annual Bocce Tournament and Festival, 11 am – ? Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman Street, Help raise money to support the museum’s Italian American Program and have a little competitive fun under the Veteran’s Bridge Overpass at 13th and Smallman streets. You could also walk away with a 2019 Vespa 150 if you participate in the event’s raffle. More than 20 corporate teams will compete to be bocce kings/queens.

Catch a wave as the end of summer approaches at the Surf Rock Summit highlighting Pittsburgh’s surf music scene.
