Restaurant week is a great time to get out of your “dinning” comfort zone.

We love to eat out at LOCAL. I mean we really love to. Like most people, we tend to go to the same few places repeatably. It’s comforting. We know the greeter when we walk in. We know the menu.  There is a feeling of comfort in these places. Winter Restaurant Week 2019 is the perfect way to try some new places, maybe expand our boundaries. The participating restaurant offer menus spotlighting what they do best, their signature dishes, at special pricing ranging from $15.19 for lunch to $35.19 for dinner per person.

As we looked through the list, it was hard to find any menus we wouldn’t want to try. That said, we did pick a few (well more than a few) that really jumped out at us.

Cilantro & Ajo– 901 E Carson Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203                                     Entree- Pabellon Bowl – rice, black beans, sweet plantains, queso fresco, avocado, and a meat choice. (Select from shredded beef, stew chicken, roasted pork, steak, grilled chicken or pork chop)

La Palapa2224 E Carson St Pittsburgh PA 15203                                                 Entree- Pork Ribs in Pasilla Sauce with two sides (Pasilla sauce is made from the Pasilla dried chile)

Luma186 Castle Shannon Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228                                                 2nd course- Pan roasted and lightly floured Alaskan cod –  topped with an applejack brandy and cinnamon cream with vegetable jasmine rice

We could have added another 10-20 and still not covered enough, but maybe it’s best to scroll and stop and go! Reservation are recommend, especially on the weekends. Hope you have some great NEW experiences and remember to tip your servers!!
